Cookie and browser storage information

Last updated: 19 October 2026

What the service stores

PlateScout uses essential browser storage to keep you signed in, protect authenticated sessions and remember search terms entered before an account is created. Signed-in dashboard data may be cached briefly in session storage to make navigation faster.

Essential categories

  • Authentication: Supabase session information needed to sign in and keep the account secure.
  • Guest search terms: a first-party value used to carry search terms into the account when you register.
  • Performance cache: per-session dashboard and saved-search-term data that reduces repeated requests and clears with the browser session or sign-out.

Optional analytics

With your choice, PlateScout uses PostHog to measure sanitised page routes and a small set of key product actions, such as completed signup, saved-term changes and starting checkout. We do not send search terms, registrations, email addresses, message content, form input, query strings, session replay or broad click tracking. Analytics remains off until you choose Allow analytics in the banner or Data choices page. If you decline or withdraw consent, PlateScout removes the PostHog browser identifier and returns to memory-only operational error diagnostics.

Advertising

PlateScout does not use advertising cookies or advertising audiences.

Your controls

Choose or change optional analytics from the Data choices page. You can also delete site data using your browser settings. Removing authentication storage signs you out. Blocking essential storage may prevent account and saved-search-term features from working.
